Please recommend a hotel. Also, Goa general information....

We%26#39;re more than likely going to Goa in April for 2 weeks. A quick look at Thomas Cook and then TripAdvisor for comparison leaves the impression that a lot of hotels are not that great.

We%26#39;re used to hostel it up so we%26#39;re not exactly looking for some 5 star accommodation just somewhere that:

NEEDED

Is relatively close to a beach

Air condition is included

Insect Repellent being sprayed (I stayed in a hotel in Egypt once where this was done morning and night and highly recommend it)

NO grifters

PERHAPS COULD HAVE

Fridge with no extra charge for this

THINGS WE WON%26#39;T MISS

TBH, things like towels getting changed or spotless clean sheets and rooms aren%26#39;t really that important. (We%26#39;re not yucky people, but after staying in a few hostels, those things just aren%26#39;t the most important things to us)

Also, are there any websites that offer really cheap flights. Looks like we%26#39;re going to have %26gt;HAVE%26lt; to go with combination hotel/flight otherwise.

Any other information worth sharing would be appreciated. (I%26#39;ll also scan the boards but so much info changes all the time.......)

If you can get a flight only I would recommend N.V. guest house in Calangute. About 50 yards to the beach, a/c large room, shower etc. t.v. and does provide towels and bedding changed every other day for 1000 rupees a night. Family run for at least the last 18 years and is in the Lonely Planets Guide. Nearly forgot, the rooms do have a fridge.
