Reassurance

Hi,

We are going to Candolim next week.......I know this is stupid but do they definately have ATMs in Candolim and the surrounding areas. Also can we definately get the maleria tablets out there - Paludrine %26amp; Avlocor. I spoke with a really stroppy male chemist who basically told me that all Indian pharmacists sold counter fit drugs - I was really quite shocked by his attitude. We have been to Goa twice before but my mum and my friends mum are coming so when its someone else you start to panic.

Thanks

Jane

Yes they definitely do have ATMs in Candolim, you won%26#39;t have any problems. The pharmacist was probably just being cautious, I%26#39;m sure most of the tablets you can buy in Goa are ok but I bought mine from Boots - they were only about £17 for a 2 week stay and at least you know for definite they%26#39;re the real thing. You have to start taking most anti malaria tablets before you travel so you%26#39;ll need to buy at least some of them in the UK.

Hi there tommy,

Just like gemma says they do have good atm,s

you can withdraw rupees @ buisiness rates.

we did it for 4 weeks and were very happy as you can get small amounts often avoiding having lots of cash to worry about.

the pharmacy in candolim is brilliant dont worry about that at all.

the guy who runs it is a doctor and his diagnosis and medicines sold are second to none, I think your chemist wanted to get your money ..

enjoy

ian.......

Hi,

Thanks to both of you...I just needed that OK......its just when your taking other people and give them information and say everythings ok you start to doubt yourself.......Yes the chemist was after my money but he was just such a complete git.

Thanks again

Jane

hi

about the chemist......he obviously knows that drugs are much much cheaper over there %26amp; didnt want to miss out on a sale, ive bought a few different meds over in goa from a couple of different chemists %26amp; im sure they were all genuine!!! they are packaged in foil strips not little bottles %26amp; you%26#39;ll see lots of local goans in the chemists too with their prescriptions so dont worry about that.
