Accomodation in South Goa

We are off to Goa and would like any advise on which place to stay..... I think we would prefer south Goa around the Colva - Varca areas as we like it quieter but with somewhere a short walk away to get to different restaurants %26amp; bars in the evening. Wouldn%26#39;t mind some place with beach shacks for a different place to grab a snack/cocktail at lunch! Like anybody else we like 5 star resorts at 3 star prices - but would be happy with nice, clean, comfy rooms!!!Any suggestions would be grateful. Thanks

Have you thought about the Holiday Inn in Cavelossim? We stayed there last February and it%26#39;s situated on a quiet part of Mobor Beach with 4 beach shacks outside the hotel and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Cavelossim is only 15 minutes walk along the beach or a 5 minute taxi drive away on an evening with a good choice of restaurants.

Colva is a little more busier than Cavelossim but you will find plenty of things to do around both the places.In Colva you can try staying at Skylark which is a decent accomodation.

At Cavelossim try Holiday Inn like Gemma suggested or Sao Domingos for a more budgeted accomodation.

When are you going? Right now Benaulim is quiet enough but livelyish and imo much preferable to tacky Colva (same long stretch of beach runs right the way down to Cavelossim). I dunno about 5* at 3* prices but the Royal Palms etc etc there was clean and a/c. If you do want to stay in ';international'; type resort hotels try and check out what foreign tour operators use it. You may not want to spend your hotel hours surrounded by large numbers of other europeans, russians, etc. on package pissups.

stopped at the baywatch beach resort sernabatim in nov last year half way between colva and benalim 5 mins to beach nice and quiet. hotel renewed last year very clea 60-80 rooms 3+/ 4* was going to rebook this year but decided to opt for cavellosim as my husband and son want to fish the river sal and it was apain to take ruck sacks for the day and mauling them round in the evening for a meal. loads of stalls in colva and lots of eating shacks between both places 10 mins walk either side along the beach 20-25 mins from cavellosim hope this helps we had the pool to our selves most of the time as package deals 3-4 days so people come and go.
