Hi,
Just wanted to know what peoples%26#39; favourite restaurants in Goa are? Also your favourte beach shack? Please also mention the type of food it/they sell(s).
Last time I went to Goa, sadly I did not eat at many of the restaurants. However, this time I will as I have 8 months to do it in!
I know the following is very good and also very popular....
Delhi Darbar - Panjim (North Indian)
This may also be a good resource for newbies to look at.
Cheers

Hi,
There are umpteen ecellent restaurants in Candolim and Calangute and to try and get round them all is futile... there is simply not enough time.
That said, the restaurants that my wife and I insist on returning to year in year out are;
Oriental Thai- Calangute (formerly in Candolim) (fantastic steaks as well as great Thai food).
The Bistro (near Whispering Palms)- Excellent food
The Himalayan- Main Road from Sinquerim to Candolim-Cheap and cheerful!
The Curry House, Beach Road, Candolim- a fantastic and mouth burning Vindaloo!
Little Italy- Calangute- a vegetarian Italian but the food is excellent
We didnt get to Chef Soumayans on the main road from Candolim to Calangute but will next year. This Chef was previously at %26#39;After 7%26#39; until he went his own way.
A place we tried for the first time was Cafe Ernesto, Vasco de Gama Club, Municipal Gardens Panjim. The place was full of wealthy locals and the food was fantastic at reasonable prices. Try the peppered steak and barbq ribs. The ribs were just meat... no fat, bone or gristle like you get at home.
We also went to Caravala in Baga for the first time and that was a great night. Good music, plenty of dancing and a good mixed crowd.
However, for my favourite place of all, wind your night up at the Mango Grove on the main Candolim road and watch the world go by. The boys are great fun and cant do enough for you.
