first time to Goa - what the dress??

Hi, it%26#39;s our first time to Goa. Travelling on Monday.

Just busy packing our cases, can anyone advise what we need is it suitable to go to resturants in the evening casually dressed.

Many thanks, Ali

I took linen pants, and not my best ones, cause they end up trailing in the red sand on the streets

Demin skir, strappy tops.

hubby took canvas pants and jeans, and he bought a load of t-shirts whilst out there.

Oh and flat shoes, as the pavements are not that good.

Hi

as said very casual, i used to wear cropped trews %26amp; strappy top or skirt %26amp; strappy top in the evenings %26amp; i stick with various types of flip flops. you do see the odd woman struggling with high heels - dont bother the roads/pavements-where there are any, are very rough %26amp; you%26#39;d risk your ankles ( %26amp; your dignity) trying to teeter around in them.

men just as casual, anything from vest tops to shirts with shorts or jeans/trousers (better for mossie defences)

A boiler suit for eating out. :0)

definately flipflop type footwear for him and her, cheap and cheerful then pop them in the bin on the last night. I would suggest disposable beach towels as well (cheapest you can find) it helps with the very strict weight allowances coming home. Two towels = one bottle of Honeybee (no competition)

Hi Vicolino

Could you elaberate on the very strick weight allowance you mentioned. I have been told by my tour operator that we are allowed to take 30 klo each, not that we would use it going. But you never know on the way back.

Many thanks....Sandy

Hi, we%26#39;re flying out tomorrow with thomas cook. we were told the normal baggage allowance is 15kg.

We paid an extra £25 each to increase the baggage allowance to 20kg.

Hope this helps, kind regards Ali

My luggage going out to goa weighed 12kg, my allowance was 20kg

i took no beach towels, bought them there, and dumped them before we came home.

I took enough clothes for couple of nights, and i just had them laundered whilst i was there.

On a morning i dropped the bag of in reception and it was returned back to me just after tea.

Cost 20r for a blouse, so there was no way i was lugging 14 nights clothes.

I took a black and brown pair of linen pants and had then laundered about 3 times each whilst i was there.

Hi, i would advise you to take casual clothes. the atmosphere in the evening is very relaxed, they dont really have dress codes for the restaurants either. one evening we went shopping straight from the beach and went to a restaurant in our beach clothing!! your clothes will get very dirty too, so i would not take any expensive clothes, they will end up orange!! have a lovely time, i go in 3 weeks and cant wait! you will love it.

Sorry

I ment 30kg not 30klo, having a very blond day ;o)

Wow what a fab laundry service - i think you%26#39;ve got the right idea.

Im so trying to pack light - but one thing leads to another!

Many thaks for all your help!
