Daytime airport Closures forTrivandrum and Kochi

The Hindu newspaper today ( March 4th ) reports that Trivandrum airport will be closed from April for two and a half months and Cochin for seven months from November 2008 during daytimes. The closures are due to works involving the runways said to be linking of the parking bays and re-carpeting.

Sorry thats the only information I have, it is only daytime closures they mention so I presume that night flights are unaffected, also there was mention in the article that pressure from the tourist department was being applied.

If there is any more I will post.

I suppose the worst case scenario is to kick off the sandles and spend another couple of days in Kovalam whilst claiming off the insurance! :)
