Chennai to Hampi

You have no choice but to go via Bangalore-you can take a cab from the airport and drive to Hampi directly from there if you wish to..

Chennai to Hampi

Let me rephrase-to get to Hampi from Chennai the route takes you via Bangalore-from where you can go by road or rail(overnight). You can%26#39;t byepass Bangalore-it%26#39;s a junction from where you have to start the trip to Hampi.

From Chennai you can take any train bound for Mumbai and get off at Guntakal Junction. From Guntakal take a bus to Hospet/Hampi.

Trains from Chennai leave at 2250/1145/0700hrs and arrive at Guntakal at0800/2045/1430hrs respectively.

From Guntakal there are about 3-4 trains to Hospet but timings don%26#39;t match when you arrive at Guntakal frm Chennai. So bus would be the best option and quick too.

ALTERNATIVELY if you wish to take a train from Bangalore, take Hampi express that departs every day from Bangalore city Jn at 2230hrs and arrives at Hospet at 0745hrs next day.
