visa emergency - help

might have read other posting about IHC in london losing our passports etc, any info on Birmingham would be appreciated as supposed to be flying on Saturday so OH has got to go there thursday or friday - if we get passports back in time. Can they get both passports if i am not there, what time should we get there, is it still postal orders only etc. Thanks

Not sure about OH arranging a duplicate passport for you. But in London HCI you can get visas done on somebody elses behalf and they accept cash. Good Luck. This must be a nightmare for you

visa emergency - help

thanks DagenhamKal. Latest update - passports found and should be arriving back home tomorrow. Birmingham have said they will give visas without me there if everything is in place, so OH is going down early hours of thursday (camping on the pavement if necessary) and i will be keeping fingers crossed while at school.

Hi, sorry to hear about you bad news with your passport. I went to Birmingham on Friday for my visa. I got there at 8.30am about 70 people already waiting. For the people that are waiting outside tickets are issused early as you arrive, before the embassy opens. If you miss this and get there once it%26#39;s open, you need to go upstairs and to the 2nd counter. There you will be given a ticket with your number on. You then have to take a seat(we waited about 2 hours) they call you to the desk, take your passport and £30. You then have to return at 3.30pm to collect it.

People were turning up as late a 9.30 and were still getting their visa%26#39;s.

It%26#39;s in the jewellary quater and there is a large NCP car park there £4 for the day.

Come out of car park, turn left you come towards a post office, take first left there down a little alley and embassy on left

It really is quite easy to do, hope all goes well.

Kind regarsd Ali

Be safe and sure get there for 7am many people have not got there visa turning up later in the past. I was lucky a few weeks back, i got stuck in terrible traffic and a 90 minute journey turned into a 180 minute journey. I got there for 9.15 and just managed to get a ticket, the place was packed. Good luck.

Yeah i%26#39;ve heard stories of been people been turned away too. Apparently Mondays an Fridays are the busiest days on of the employess there at the embassy told me.

Go early %26amp; Good luck.

thanks for your advice. OH is leaving here at 3am and should be there for no later than 6 (allowing time for finding it) - camping on pavement till open. If we get done for vagrancy so be it. Thanks for parking tip as that is also a worry in cities. Will hopefully be able to post good news on thursday. Fingers crossed.
