I hope you can help me - a friend of mine is travelling to India in the next week and just found out that you must get the currency inside the country.
Can I ask would EURO be okay to bring into the country for conversion or would it be better to change the Euro into dollars first.

Both dollars and euros r okay at all times...but at this point of time i wud bring euros...coz dollar probably will fetch u less rupees (rupee riding an alltime high against doller for past few weeks )

Stick to Euro. Even UK pound sterling is holding up better against the Rupee on an average.
