Coming back to Goa for 2nd time.

Well we were suppose to be going to Florida for 2 weeks but due to visa problems we have deceided to come back to Goa instead.

So what i am asking for is info on,

1. Weather or not to go All Inclusive or just go B%26amp;B.

Me personally i don%26#39;t mind but my wife wants to go AI.

Is it worth the extra money to go AI.

It has being over 2yrs since we were in Goa last. Has prices risen much??

2. Can anybody recomend a good jewellery shop for getting some rings made.(i know that this has being asked so many times already)

And a good tailor.

3. Where is the best place to go for a romantic night with my wife. Agonda or is there somewhere else.

4. Can anyboby recomend a taxi driver for us, who can pick us up at the airport. Someone reliable and not a crazy driver(well no more crazy then anyone else in Goa)

I for got to say that we will be satying in North Goa, probably in Candolin or Baga. (stayed in Calengute last time and it is a bit too mad and busy)

Thanks in advance for your help.

We are so excited about coming back to Gao. (It is a lot different then Florida)

Bern

Coming back to Goa for 2nd time.

personally i would never go all inclusive unless you have to.

And i dont%26#39; think that you have to in goa, there are so many nice places to eat and drink, would you really like to be tied to a hotel.

A lime soda on the beach was only 15r.

that is just my opinion

Coming back to Goa for 2nd time.

Hi Bern

This is my opinion only...

I%26#39;m sure you will get many replies.

AI def not. You will miss so much.

Prices risen? yes, hasn%26#39;t everywhere but still good value.

Jeweller..Guru Candolim

Tailor, Natasha at Phoenix park inn has a great tailor.

Romantic night, Hmmmmm tastes vary. For me a night on the rice boat or a night in the Arabian tents on Cola beach,or a bottle of champagne anywhere under the stars...all preceeded by a visit to the jewellers first lol

Taxi..Sergio6370@yahoo.com very reliable and safe.

This time in two weeks i will be on my way..Yay!!!

Have a great holiday...

hi bern

i should go b and b,all inclusive is just not

worth it.

if calangute was a bit to hectic you will find

baga absolutely crazy, candolim is not too bad yet,

but if you want a reasonabley peaceful holiday i

would think about cavelossim in the south.

tom

wouldn%26#39;t do A/I.

Guru jeweller - super

Sergio taxi - super

It%26#39;s not a good idea to go AI in my opinion - there are so many good and cheap places to eat that you don%26#39;t want to be tied to your hotel and having to return their for your meals.

Also the hotel restaurants do not usually have any entertainment while a number of the more popular tourist orientated restaurants are likely to have live music and singers.

if you want to have the odd meal in your hotel you can always just pay for that meal - but you will probably find it is 3 or 4 times as much as an outside restaurant.

As to prices, the exchange rate is not as good as it was two years ago when it was over 90 rupees to the pound. Last week the exchange rate was 72 rupees, but most things are still relatively cheap.

Enjoy your trip!

Sadly we have had to cancel our holiday to Goa for this year.

It looks like my wife and myself are never going to get to go on our Honeymoon.

We had to cancel our wedding Reception and our Honeymoon last year due to family problems.

So we,

Booked to stay at the Santaigo hotel, Baga for this March. We then found out that one of our best mates was getting married so we deceided to postpone.

So we then,

Booked to go to Florida but then an unknown and thus unpaid fine( had a warrent out for me. It took 1-2 hrs in court and it was sorted and paid. Sent to old address) put an end to that as it was too last to apply for a visa into USA.

So we then,

Decided to go back to our orgional plan and take a chance with the heat( all my Indian friends say April is way too hot in Goa) and we would go back to Goa for the last 2 weeks in April.

Everything was great and i was waiting for the end of February to get paid and get the holiday all excited.

Then i pulled my back out. It is an old injury and i was out for nearly 6 month last year. But everything was good, untill the week before i got paid. Had injections and i am due to have an epidural but the pain has not and probably will not go away untill i get it sorted fully. I cannot move and have being in bed for nearly 3 weeks.

So i went ahead and took the chance that the back would be ok enough to go and paid. But managed to only pay deposit.

So we lost the deposit as we have made the desision to go ahead and cancel.

To top it all off i have had to ring our good friend and tell him 5 days before his wedding that we cannot go to that either.

To say that i am annoyed is an understatement.

But we will now be able to go to USA later in the summer and come back to Goa sometime next spring.

So there is my sad story of a failed Honeyoon/Holiday.

What a nightmare. I hope you feel better soon and manage to get something organised for later in the year.
