I would really like to bring back some wooden carvings from goa!

A giraffe to be precise! Do you find this type of thing at the markets? staying in candolim!

thanks in advance for your reply!

the markets??

There are loads of wood carving shops in Candolim you will be spoilt for choice, don%26#39;t think I have ever seen a giraffe, but plenty of elephants, I%26#39;m sure you will find somewhere that will do one for you.

the markets??

We saw wooden giraffes in Goa this year. I particularly remember this as several years ago we were looking for one to bring home and we had such fun trying to explain what a Giraffe was. The sellers were asking us to draw one.

You might find that wooden carvings of giraffes don%26#39;t actually originate in India (given that giraffes live in Africa, not India). We once bought a wooden elephant, and it was only when we got it home we realised it was an African elephant, not an Indian one.

Just come home from Candolim, there was a woman and a little boy selling carved animals (including a giraffe) along the Calangute/Candolim beach stretch.

Don%26#39;t know what the quality was like, though.
