Goa= parties?!

Hi guys

My bf and I are thinking about goin to Goa this summer - but we are NOT party ppl; and I will by then be 7months pregnant.

Are there any places we should avoid going? And where can we find the most silence - north or south Goa.

Also we%26#39;d really like to stay at a beautiful swimming beach - any recommendations?

Goa is not a summer holiday destination as the monsoon is June - October so it will be very wet. The sea will also be very rough so no swimming or beach shacks. The holiday season is November - April and this is the best time to go.

Avoid Goa in the Indian Summer. It%26#39;ll be very hot.

If you want a quiet, un-cluttered time with a beach to your own, look at Tarkarli. Its about 90 KM north of Goa...Much cleaner beach, CLEAN water, no night-clubs...its a small town with lovely accommodations right on the beach. Besides, at about half the price you%26#39;ll get double the value. The people there are very friendly as well.

There are also a couple of hill-stations around Tarkarli, like Amboli, which is about hmm..30 mins or so away. Loads of options in the Konkan belt.

Although anywhere in that area will be in the grip of the monsoon by then. You would also have to fly via Mumbai or Colombo as there are no direct charter flights between the end of April and mid-October.

Actually, I%26#39;m sure they are after the heat and humidity building up to them! I%26#39;ve been threatening to do a summer in Goa for years, but never quite managed to organise my workload well enough. I merely meant to point out that Dasini probably wouldn%26#39;t find unbroken sunshine and blue skies for two weeks and that most of the beaches disappear under monsoon tides.

Instead of a summer in Goa, try moving a little north of Goa to Tarkarli or Vengurla. These places are about a 100 KM north of Goa and are completely virgin! You could an entire beach to yourself!
