Please can anyone tell me where in or around the Goa area is a good place to go, my girlfriend and i are in calangute at the momment but it%26#39;s a bit to package tour. Guesthouse would be nice but no essential. Thanks

Since you are already there why not hire a taxi for the day? The driver will show you to lots of places. The south is pretty unspoilt and there are many quieter beaches further north than Calangute.

Agree. head towards Mandrem. Beautiful beaches and very unspoilt. Loads of guesthouses and beachhuts up there.
Ask the driver to take you to the dunes village at Mandrem they are little huts made up into a little village you can walk through and go onto the beach. Excellant loos and very good food. Beautiful beach. You can have a look round first and then decide if you want to go back and stay a couple of days.
