colonial style hotel with garden/pool - not Taj can't afford

looked at shelleys - does it have gardens you can sit our and relax in

any other suggestions? ideal is with pool so we can chill out if need be

Not sure if you are aware but Bombay is one of the more exp cities in the world hotel wise so hoping for a low budget hotel like you described seems hard.

There is a club in south bombay called the breach candy club that lets foriegners in who are not members by show of their passport and a nominal fee say 200RS... I need to double check if this rule still applies since it has been a while since I went there but their pools (indoor and outdoor) are some of the nicest in the city and they have a bar and all day snack service with food and beverage that is quite cheap.
